Position: Back-End Developer – Node.js
Location: 100% remote in Canada (Eastern and Central coast of Canada)

We are currently seeking a Senior Back-End Engineer for our client, a trailblazer in the mortgage industry dedicated to modernizing and simplifying the sector with cutting-edge technology. Since its inception in 2019, our client has been fervently working to enhance the capabilities of loan officers through sophisticated software tools that foster customer relationship management and streamline daily operations. With a remote setup that spans the US, Latin America, and Europe, they embrace diversity and ingenuity in their team.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Back-End Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming CRM software for the mortgage industry, seizing a significant market opportunity. You'll be at the forefront of designing and developing scalable back-end components and orchestrating serverless functions to drive user engagement and efficiency.

- Redefine a best-in-class CRM software for the mortgage industry so we can capitalize on a strong opportunity in the market.
- Architect and build scalable serverless back-end components for various user-facing features.
- Build and orchestrate background jobs, serverless functions, and parts of our workflow engine.
- Improve database and infrastructure performance by implementing caching solutions or connection pooling.
- Improve observability, monitoring, and alerting for our service so that we can better respond to operational incidents.
- Have technical product ownership and exposure to new frameworks and libraries as we expand the breadth of feature set.

Tech:

- Node, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Temporal as a workflow engine and infrastructure orchestration.
- Public GraphQL API that has access to all the user's data.
- Prisma, TypeGraphQL.
- Node.js in the backend, hosted as Serverless Backend on Vercel.
- GitHub, Slack, Miro, and Notion.
- Test automation with GitHub Actions.
