Position: DevOps Integration Architect
Location: Downtown Toronto (but 100% remote during COVID)
Job Type: Contract until March 2021 with extension, long term is the goal!

We're looking for a very hands-on Architect with extensive experience designing DevOps solutions, managing implementations, and acting as a transformational leader. Experience with Azure, Kafka, and Kong API gateway are very much desired!

Duties:

- Architect, design, build and maintain tools for automated code testing and deployment
- Work with Management, PMs, BAs, technical leads, and business owners in all phases of the SDL, including: requirement gathering, application design, system development, testing and implementation
- Write custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases
- Help solve issues and push forward our entire tech stack (especially Python & Azure)
- Create or extract microservices to support our core web applications
- Assist team leads with developing project estimates and plans
- Improve performance and scalability via testing and optimization
- Configure commercial off the shelf solutions to align with evolving business needs
- Create meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively

Qualifications:
 
- Bachelor's or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in both Architecting CI/CD pipelines and development in Python, Java, or Object-Oriented languages
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing environments including Azure, AWS, and Google
- Expertise in establishing continuous integration and deployment, including the software (or equivalent): Jenkins, GitHub, Chef or Puppet, Docker, Scalable Document Oriented Storage (preferably Elastic Search) and Event Bus (preferably Kafka)
- Experience with establishing process/protocols for enterprise CI/CD across multiple teams and vendors
- Exposure to REST and effective API service design
